Some of the books and tools I have found helpful in developing my business. Maybe they will be of interest to you.
Book Yourself Solid by Michael Port
I first read this book some years ago when I was considering entering the consulting world. As I chose a different path aligning myself with The CFO Centre I set the book aside. As I change my course to be an independent consultant, I have returned to using the invaluable advice it contains. Highly recommended.

The Long Game by Dorie Clark
I thoroughly enjoyed the Long Game by Dorie Clark. Dorie Clark has been named one of the Top 50 business thinkers in the world by Thinkers50, and was recognized as the #1 Communication Coach in the world by the Marshall Goldsmith Leading Global Coaches Awards. Clark, a consultant and keynote speaker, teaches executive education at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and Columbia Business School. So what she has to say is worth paying attention to. She has achieved the ultimate goal of many consultants, coaches; Multiple income streams and the ability to earn money while you sleep.
What I love about this book is that Dorie reminds us that success takes time. Progress maybe slow at first but each success builds on each other to deliver exponential progress. A great read if you are feeling down due to lack of progress, or just for inspiration as you launch your business. If you are interested check it out using my Amazon Affiliate link below. Crucial Conversations Co-authored by Messrs. Patterson, Grenny, McMillan and Switzler.
Another book I find myself returning to again and again. Most of us, including me, do not handle crucial or difficult conversations well. We either avoid the conversation entirely or handle it badly. This book reminds us that it does not need to be that way. With a little practice and following some guidelines we can all become more skilled at having that crucial conversation. If you have a conversation that has not gone well or are preparing for tough conversation this book is worth your time. What Start Ups Fail by Tom Eisenmann
Learn from the mistakes of others, you cannot live long enough to make them all yourself is attributed, among others, to Eleanor Roosevelt. And that is exactly what this book allows you to do. Amazing true stories of companies that achieved initial success only to crash and burn not long after their launch. Including the tale of Fab.com which achieved Unicorn status only two years after its launch. Within 12 months from this milestone it was out of business. I covered the rise and fall of Fab.com in a podcast in Sept 2021. If you would like to learn more Follow the link below
